Job brief

Our steel and glass company needs the skills and expertise of an experienced and highly motivated Sales Engineer.
We are looking for a Sales Representative to help us meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth targets by keeping our company  competitive and innovative. You will be responsible for maximizing our sales potential and crafting sales plans.


Your duties

  • Establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers
  • Actively seeking out new sales opportunities through magazines, cold calling, networking and social media
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Organizing sales visits with potential clients and identifying their needs and concerns
  • Negotiating contracts, terms and conditions
  • Preparing sales forecasts and reports and ensuring that sales targets are met
  • Identifying emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
  • Supporting marketing activities by organizing and attending trade exhibitions, conferences and meetings
  • Implementing a strategic sales plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence in the region
  • Recording and maintaining client contact data
  • Presentations and demonstrations how our products and experience will meet client needs
  • Initial review and pre-selection of potential project bids
  • Evaluation of bid related project documents (identification of cost drivers and special conditions)
  • Coordinating scope of work between client and your estimating team
  • Technical and commercial clarifications with design team and owner during bid phase
  • Preparing tenders and bid documents in close collaboration with the estimating department in Germany
  • Managing entire bid phase from early budget pricing through hard-bid and post tender handover to project management


Your qualifications

  • Technical background is mandatory, including profound knowledge of steel and glass façade systems
  • BS/MS degree in Engineering / Architecture and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the façade business
  • Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars and conferences
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
  • Excellent team worker
  • Aptitude in delivering attractive presentations
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
  • Readiness for frequent travel to visit potential clients
  • Strong communication skills
  • German knowledge is helpful but not mandatory
