The new building for the headquarters of insurers HDI Versicherung in Hanover is designed as a modern, glazed structure. The particular charm of this building lies in its fully glazed atrium. This space, flooded with light, is the central point of communication from which the office sections branch off like extended fingers.
The clarity of the architecture is reflected through to the design of the facades. The supporting profiles of the atrium, along with the ground floor facades, are designed as rectangular, sharp-edged steel profiles. Components to control the ventilation windows and sun-screening systems are integrated into the profiles. The glazing is attached with retainers in the space between the panels, meaning that they are not visible from the outside. As a result, a clear, sleek and ultimately highly filigree structure has been realized.
