The synagogue of the Jewish Center on Munich’s Jakobsplatz stands free in the space, facing towards the east, with an enclosed base and a filigree steel structure rising above it.
The tent of the synagogue is formed from the overlaying and structural interplay of three levels:
- Externally, a visually fragile shell: the bronze mesh with the look of a textile material
- Internally, a supporting structure commemorating the geometry of the Star of David: the filigree steel construction, based on triangular structures, with heated aluminum profiles placed on it, including conditioning of the joints
- Centrally, a filter between the inner and the outer geometry: the glass level, which in its arrangement mediates between the compartmentalized structure and the surface shell
